Purpose of this website
OBVC invests only its own capital in private companies and selected venture funds. This website helps us identify potential investments by inviting enquiries from companies seeking capital, shareholders considering a secondary sale and venture managers seeking a capital commitment. We do not seek investment from website visitors or offer to manage their money.
The website does not offer visitors a facility to invest with OBVC or subscribe for an investment. Information here is not personal investment, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell a security. Obtain advice suited to your circumstances before making an investment decision.
Investment references and enquiries
Selected investments illustrate OBVC's investment activity. They are not recommendations, a complete portfolio or a statement of current availability. Past investments do not indicate future results. Private investments can be illiquid and may lose some or all of their value.
Investment sizes and descriptions of our process are indicative. Any transaction depends on due diligence, agreement of terms and definitive documentation. Sending an enquiry does not create an advisory relationship or oblige either party to proceed.
Please send only information you are entitled to share. Agree suitable confidentiality arrangements with us before sending sensitive transaction materials; an initial email does not itself create a confidentiality agreement.

Information we receive
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any information or attachments you choose to provide. This may include your name, role, organisation, telephone number and business correspondence. The website's email links open your email application; the website itself does not submit an enquiry form.
DD LONDON arranges our website hosting. The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., which serves it through a global content delivery network and processes page requests on servers in the United States. Vercel records technical information about each request, such as IP address, request time, page requested, browser details and response status, to deliver and protect the website. The request logs available to us are kept for one day. Website text and images are stored and delivered by Sanity (Sanity AS and Sanity Inc.), so your browser also requests images from Sanity's servers.
If someone introduces you to us, we receive the contact details and context they pass on.
Why we use information
We use business contact details and correspondence to respond to enquiries, assess opportunities and maintain relevant business relationships. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: communicating with prospective business counterparties and evaluating investments for our own account. We must balance those interests against your rights.
We use technical information to deliver the website, investigate faults and prevent misuse, relying on our legitimate interests in operating a secure website. Where a specific legal obligation requires us to retain or disclose information, we rely on that obligation.
You choose whether to contact us. Without enough information to understand your enquiry and reply, we may be unable to help. We do not send marketing emails and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Who receives information
Enquiry emails are received and stored in our Microsoft 365 email service, provided by Microsoft. Our Microsoft 365 account is registered in the United Kingdom, so Microsoft stores mailbox content at rest in its United Kingdom data centres.
Enquiries are read only by the people at OBVC who assess them. We do not share enquiries with any other organisation. Microsoft provides our email service. DD LONDON, Vercel and Sanity run the website and see only the technical information described above, not your emails. We share information with our professional advisers where a transaction requires it, and disclose information where the law requires.
International transfers
Our website hosting provider, Vercel Inc., processes website request data in the United States. Website content is stored by Sanity on Google Cloud Platform and may be processed in the United States and other countries where Sanity and its subprocessors operate. These transfers outside the United Kingdom are covered by each provider's data processing agreement, which incorporates the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum issued by the Information Commissioner. Mailbox content is stored in the United Kingdom. Microsoft processes limited data outside the United Kingdom for support and service operations, under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in its data processing addendum. You can ask us for details of these safeguards at invest@obvc.com.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Relevant factors include whether an enquiry remains active, whether a business relationship continues, and any applicable record-keeping or legal-claims requirements.
Enquiries that do not proceed are deleted 12 months after our last substantive contact, unless a review identifies a documented continuing need and sets a further review date. Records of active relationships and completed transactions are kept for the life of the relationship and for any period required by law or needed to deal with legal claims. Website request logs are kept for one day.
Your rights and complaints
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in data protection law, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, request its deletion or restrict its use. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. Data portability applies to certain automated processing based on consent or a contract. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
To exercise a right or raise a concern, email invest@obvc.com. We may need to verify your identity. Requests are normally free, and we normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions or exceptions.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113. You do not have to complain to us first.
